Berthiaume Family | Golden Valley Family Photographer

New clients are so fun! The Berthiaume Family found me through a referral from another photographer and I couldn’t have been happier to meet them.  I met Gina for our pre-session consultation at her home and we instantly hit it off – we’re both very laid back, happy and fun.  I knew from then on that this was a start of a beautiful client/photographer relationship!

We enjoyed their at-home photo session on a crisp November afternoon. Their 2 dogs joined in the fun as well! We were hoping for some leaves, but with the incredibly fast fall we had in Minnesota, they had already fallen and were raked up.  We improvised and had a blast running around their huge backyard and climbing the stairs in their front yard.  How cute are these?

Tabs Turns Two | St. Louis Park Child Photographer

I’m a little biased about the family highlighted in this blog post because Tabitha (aka: Tabs) and her parents are a few of my most favorite clients in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD.  I had the supreme pleasure of being their in-hospital newborn photographer when I worked with First Day Photo.  Her parents appreciate fine photographs and the work it takes to make them and finish them for print.  Tabs’ dad is a shutterbug himself and we always have fun conversations about cameras, lenses, lighting, etc.  He’s a true hobbyist and it’s fun to “talk shop” with him knowing he wants to learn how to continue to take great photos.  Tabs’ mom is super sweet and loving – she has the best smile and it lights up the place.  Her zest for life and joy of her family is evident when you meet her.  I just LOVE this family! 🙂

Tabs and her parents came to the studio for her 2-year photo session and then we headed out to Wolfe Park to finish it up with some outdoor photos. Enjoy Tabs!

Lily is 9! | Minneapolis Children’s Photographer

I’m bummed about the delay in getting this blog post published.  Personal blog posts always fall to the wayside during my busy fall season don’t they?. I wanted to get this out in August… I’m only 4 months late. HA!  My daughter is not a typical photographer’s child.  She LOVES being in front the camera and looks forward to her annual birthday photo session every year. She chooses her own hairstyle and outfits. This year, she even chose the location and styles.  She wanted it to be “playful urban hip hop”.  Her words. For reals.

When she turned 9 this summer, I remember thinking, “How did she get so old so fast?” I know it’s cliche, but time really does go fast when you’re raising a child.  I see so much of me in her both physically and emotionally. I’m incredibly proud of the young woman she has become.  I love her with all my heart and soul.  She is witty, thoughtful, musical, friendly, happy, smart, loving, empathetic, helpful, silly, snuggly, warm, and last, but definitely not least… BEAUTIFUL.

Lily, you are my sunshine.

Erin and Ramesh’s Couple Session | Minneapolis Couples Photographer

When was the last time you had professional photos taken of you and your mate?  Be it your wife or husband, boyfriend or girlfriend or life partner… taking professional portraits is something you should prioritize into your budget.  Are you the one that always takes the photos?  Do you have more “self-shot” photos – you know, the one where you cut off someone’s head and you can see your arm – of the two of you with your iPhone than anything?

Erin and Ramesh have been married for three years and I had the pleasure of taking their engagement photos on an unseasonably cold October day in 2009.  They were married in California later that fall and I couldn’t have been happier for them!  When Erin contacted me earlier this year to create updated couple portraits, I jumped for joy.  Erin is a super stylish and fantastic woman and Ramesh is a trendy and mysterious man who has one of the most calming demeanors I have ever seen.  I couldn’t wait for their urban Uptown session!

December is here with all it’s holiday cheer! Enright Family Session | St. Louis Park Family Photographer

I am so lucky to do what I do! The Enright Family and my family have known each other for many years – I often hoped they would allow me the pleasure of capturing beautiful family portraits for them. My wish came true! Lynda, a fantastic nutritionist and wellness coach, and her husband John have three beautiful children.  The youngest is three and for three years I have been trying to get her to like me – she was just SO shy! I was very worried about her during the session, but was confident we could make something work with a little help from Dad. 🙂  Turns out she decided that morning that she likes me!  She really likes me! We had a fantastic session at Wolfe Park in St. Louis Park.  Here are some beautiful images from our recent session – ENJOY!

These kiddos LOVE their Dad.  As a matter of fact, I think all kids do! I know mine does. 🙂

And the little girl I was SO worried about gave me one of the sweetest photos I’ve ever taken. Sweet girl!

I had my very own boudoir session a little over a year ago and don’t regret it for a second.  Although I was anxious about my 30something, post-kid, curvy body being photographed, I gathered a few outfits outfits and props and made my way to the studio.  Getting my hair and makeup done was super fun – I felt like a celebrity with people fawning over me and making me beautiful. When it came time to see the photos, I gasped in excitement and wonder at the beauty of the images that were ME. The breathtaking images continue to be a self-confidence boost when I sneak peeks at the images. In the vein of being transparent, here is one of my photos taken by the wonderful Erin Benner of Angelicjewel Photography.

Meet Bennett | Lester Prairie Newborn Photographer

The moment Bennett entered the world, he was loved by one of the most amazing families I know. He joins his older two sisters, Sophie and Kaya, who shower him with kisses and love whenever they get the chance.
